ABOUT US

What is Mission Giga Academy?

Mission Giga Academy focuses on the educational needs of children aged 7 to 14. Our approach involves creating a dynamic learning environment, where children not only gain knowledge but also experience the joy of exploration and curiosity.

At Mission Giga Academy, our mission is to instill 21st-century skills, emphasizing critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and compassion. By seamlessly integrating technology into our curriculum, we ensure children keep up with the latest advancements, preparing them for the future challenges they may encounter.

Our extracurricular program is an exciting journey into the realm of digital creativity, where students have the opportunity to dive into the fascinating world of coding and robotics using Micro:bit.

In this innovative and hands-on program, students will learn the foundations of computer programming, problem-solving, and electronics in a fun and engaging way. The Micro:bit, a compact yet powerful programmable computer, serves as our guiding tool for exploration.

Through a series of interactive lessons and creative projects, students will:

  1. Discover the fundamentals of coding languages and logic.

  2. Unleash their imagination by creating games, animations, and digital art.

  3. Gain hands-on experience with electronics and sensors.

  4. Understand the principles of robotics and automation.

  5. Collaborate with peers on exciting team projects

*We offer an extracurricular activity program for schools.

ABOUT MICRO:BIT

What is Micro:bit?
How does it help?

Micro:bit is a small, pocket-sized, programmable computer designed to teach coding and digital skills to students, particularly in primary and secondary education. It was created by the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) in the United Kingdom as part of their "Make It Digital" campaign to encourage computer science education in schools. The Micro:bit is a versatile and affordable tool that helps students learn about electronics, coding, and computational thinking.

Coding Skills

Students will develop foundational coding skills, including understanding coding concepts, using coding blocks, and creating programs to control the Micro:bit.

Students will explore their creative abilities by designing animations, games, and digital art using the Micro:bit. They'll gain confidence in their creative expression through coding.

Creativity
Problem-Solving

The lessons involve problem-solving tasks, helping students develop the ability to identify and fix errors in code and design solutions for various challenges.

Students will become more digitally literate, understanding how technology works and how to interact with it through programming.

Digital Literacy
STEM Concepts

Through the use of sensors and game development, students will learn science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) concepts in an interactive and practical way.

Collaboration and teamwork are encouraged in some lessons, fostering interpersonal and communication skills.

Teamwork
Real-World Application

Students will see how coding and technology have practical applications, such as creating a nightlight or a step counter, which can help them connect their learning to the real world.

The lessons can spark an interest in technology and programming, potentially inspiring students to pursue further studies and careers in these fields.

Interest in Technology
Confidence

As students successfully complete coding projects and games, they'll gain confidence in their abilities to tackle technical challenges.

The lessons encourage critical thinking as students make decisions about coding logic, game strategies, and problem-solving.
